First Day Balancing! Version 1.0.1 Update!


Hello! Unsurprisingly, it looks like I have to clean up my mess and make a big balancing patch immediately after releasing a new game. This update makes a large amount of changes to clean up certain aspects of the game, especially the difficulty of the boss fights and the inability to re-register at the same checkpoint after shooting a gate switch. I've watched a few players struggle in particular with these aspects of the game, so I'm hoping that these changes help to smooth out the gameplay! Happy gaming!

As a side note, I've started to notice GameMaker Studio 1.4 games having performance issues for an increasing amount of people as of late. There's a chance that the game will run more quickly than it is supposed to with the first download, resulting in an overly difficult and unpleasant experience. The second download has a VSync setting enabled and should ensure that the game runs at an expected 60 FPS; this version of the game is a little more resource-intensive for your system to run, but if the first download appears to have issues, or you're simply not sure if the game is working as intended, you should default to the VSync-enabled download instead.

== VERSION 1.0.1 CHANGES ==

  • The first boss now only has six segments instead of eight.
  • The second boss now shoots one less projectile at a time per phase than before.
  • The vertical position of the third boss's final phase has been lowered slightly, and its projectiles now travel more slowly.
  • A new checkpoint has been added to the second room of the lava cavern.
  • You can now contact your current checkpoint again after changing the state of a gate switch.
